If you would like your child to attend our school, please see full details of our admission arrangements below.

As Northern is a maintained primary school, admission to the school is decided by the local authority.

In Year Admissions

If you have moved to the area or are moving the area, or are simply looking at a new school for your child, we welcome enquiries. Please contact Mrs Nicholas our School Business Manager to arrange a visit to look around our amazing school. Mrs Nicholas will then guide you through the in-year admissions process which is handled by Lancashire County Council’s Pupil Access Team.

Welcome to our school - planning for September 2027?

 

We are delighted that you are interested in applying for a place for your child at Northern Primary School in September 2027 or that you have already chosen Northern as the school for your child in September. We are excited about welcoming you to our Northern community, and hopefully the information below will help you understand more about what your child’s journey with us will be like from September 2027.

I know that this is a really important stage in the journey for your family and I would like to reassure you that even in the current situation we will ensure that both you and your child receive a transition to Northern which ensures you both feel happy and confident about September. We are trying to be creative in the way we share our amazing Northern ethos with you and are planning ways for you and your child to experience all of the things that make Northern such an amazing place to learn and thrive. Very soon we will be uploading a video of our amazing school so you can truly understand this for yourselves. This year we are making everyday open day so that you can visit at your convenience and so you can experience our ethos first hand. Our wonderful Reception class of 2026 are now all thriving in school, and we are looking forward to your child being in our Reception 2027 class.

We believe it is important that you have an insight in to how our children thrive, not only in Reception, but also throughout their journey through Northern. Therefore we have asked our children and staff to share with you their thoughts about being a part of the Northern community.
