Reception parent-child Lego workshop with Lancashire Adult Learning
Reception parents came into school on Monday March 9th 2026 for a ‘Have a go with Lego’ parent-child workshop led by Lancashire Adult Learning.
The course was great fun, and encouraged and promoted engineering and creativity for our youngest children.

Year 4 parent-child Maths meets Art workshop with Lancashire Adult Learning
Year 4 parents came into school on Monday 9th March 2026 for a ‘Maths meets Art’ parent-child workshop led by Lancashire Adult Learning.
The objective of this session was “Discuss “Who is the Artist”. Draw X and Y axis to create art, Intro to Op Art & Artist Bridget Riley. Apply measuring skills to create art in the style of Bridget Riley. Design unique positive/negative space art.
The children were rightly, very proud of their designs at the end of the session well done everyone.

Year 6 parent-child Ozobots workshop with Lancashire Adult Learning
Eight Year 6 children and their families had a fantastic afternoon on 5th February 2026 taking part in the Lancashire Adult Learning Ozobots coding workshop today.
It was so much fun to see the little Ozobots move as per instructions thanks to the children’s wonderful coding skills.

Year 5 Sharing our Learning
On Tuesday 3rd February, Year 5 were excited to invite their parents and carers into school to share their learning.
We showed off many of the things we have been learning about during our Space topic. There were
demonstrations of our spelling practice and research skills as well as showcasing our reading and comprehension. Parents and carers also enjoyed being taken orienteering in the hall.
Rock Concert
Since October our rock band children have had 30 minute weekly sessions with their Rock Steady band leader, Rob, and have been learning their instruments
and practicing together as a band ready for their first ever concert.
On Wednesday 17th December 2025, that concert took place and wow we can’t believe the progress they have made. These children, as young as Reception, have
never used these instruments before so to be able to play them and perform on a stage in front of parents and families is absolutely phenomenal!
Well done everyone – you have all done amazingly!
Year 5 parent-child Lego workshop
On Thursday, year 5 family members came into school to take part in a Lego workshop with their child.
The challenge was to make their name in Lego (there are no rounded pieces in Lego so they had to think outside the box).
They also had to make their own sealife creature and then the group had to guess what it was.
Then they had 3 minutes to pick 40 bricks and make their own unique piece of Lego art.
They had to make a transporter for a Lego character to travel on a zip line above crocodile infested waters.
There was smiles a plenty and lot’s of creativity from everyone.
